The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one suspect who claims to be an Army officer and engages in army recruitment in Kafin Madaki, Bauchi State.
The suspect identified as Faisal Ibrahim, was arrested on Saturday in Bauchi for allegedly claiming to be an Army officer and for obtaining under false pretence, the sum of N140,000 to offer employment into the Nigerian Army
According to a source, Faisal Ibrahim who impersonated as an Army officer obtained under false pretence, the sum of N140,000 from one Ibrahim Muhammad, 20, of Gombe State, to enlist him into the Nigerian Army.
According to the PPRO, the suspect was arrested in the process of collecting more money from the complainant and he is assisting the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of his accomplice.
The DSP urged members of the public to be vigilant not to fall victims of such avoidable blackmail and should follow the statutory procedure in seeking recruitment for their children.
