Eagles Not Under Pressure, Says Onazi

Nigeria midfielder Ogenyi Onazihas revealed that the Super Eagles are not under any pressure as they prepare to face Sudan in Saturday's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Khartoum.

Coach Abdallah Mazda's side will be hoping to shock Stephen Keshi's men as they seek their first win of the qualifying campaign seeing they remain at the base of Group A with no point from two games.

According to Onazi, the Eagles have made a resolve to get maximum points toward re-launching their bid to qualify for Afcon 2015.

"We’ve put the two previouys games behind us now, our focus is on the game against Sudan and we know the importance so we're going for an outright win," he said during a parley with the media.

"We're concentrating on the games, we're looking forward to it with determination and we have to go out there, as we've always done and give our 100 percent.

"I don't think we are under ..., no, there is no pressure on, instaed, it’s the Sudanese that should be under pressure," he continued.

"They are playing at home, they would want to impress their home supporters and also avoid losing a second home game in a row. That for us will put them under pressure and which we will take advantage of.

"We know what is at stake, we know what is expected from us and we know that Nigerians want nothing but victory from us in Sudan. We’re working hard to come out victorious in the two games."

Nigeria defeated Sudan 2-0 in an international friendly played in January 2008 with goals coming from Ikechukwu Uche and Manasseh Ishaku.
