Oscar Pistorius Verdict Expected to Finish Today

The verdict in the Oscar Pistorius continues at 3:30 ET

Oscar Pistorius is expected to find out today if he will be found guilty of culpable homicide conviction, a day after he was cleared of the most severe charges against him.

Judge Thokozile Masipa said yesterday she felt Pistorius acted negligently when he fatally shot 29-year-old Reeva Steenkamp last year. She then stopped delivering her judgment and adjourned until Friday when a formal verdict in the case that has riveted much of South Africa and the world is expected.

In her reasoning so far, the judge has only said that prosecutors have not proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Pistorius is guilty of premeditated murder.

If Pistorius is found guilty of culpable homicide conviction, also known as manslaughter, he could serve up to 15 years in jail.

The judge in the Oscar Pistorius trial cleared him of murder, but he may not be free yet.
