World Cup Playoff: FIFA Appoints Cameroonian Referee For Ethiopia VS Nigeria Match

World football governing body, FIFA on Thursday appointed a Cameroonian referee, Neant Alioum, to take charge of the 2014 World Cup playoff fixture between Ethiopia and Nigeria on 13 October.

Ademola Olajire, Assistant Director (Media), Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), disclosed this in a statement released in Abuja.

The match is the first leg game in the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers' final elimination round.

The match has been scheduled for Addis Ababa, with the second leg game fixed for November 16 in Calabar.

The statement said FIFA had also confirmed that the match would kick off at 4pm Ethiopian time, and 2pm Nigerian time.FIFA also appointed Walter Gagg from Switzerland as observer for the match.

"The referee will be assisted by compatriots Evarist Menkouande, Yanoussa Moussa and Henry Kalla as Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official respectively," the statement added.

"Also, Egyptian Essam Siam will be the Referees Assessor, while Wilfred Mukuna from Zimbabwe will be the Match Commissioner and Kenya's Nicholas Musonye will act as Security Officer for the match."
