Obasanjo, Babangida And Pro-Jonathan Governors Meet In Abuja To Keep PDP Alive

Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo and some key PDP members met with some members of the 'New PDP'on Friday in Abuja.

Below are the names of those who attended the meeting that held at the 5 star hotel yesterday:

Retired General Ibrahim Babangida, IBB.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Former PDP Chairmen Ahmed Ali.

Senator Barnabas Gemade.

Chief Tony Anenih.

Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Wamakko.

Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido.

Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi.

After the meeting, Obasanjo told reporters that the meeting was called in order to stop the party from collapsing.

"Gentlemen of the press, I thank you for exercising patience. Let me point out, you have seen five of us as select elders of the party. We have taken it upon ourselves to prevent the worst from happening to our dear party."

"Two of our members are abroad and could not join us today. They are Solomon Lar and Alex Ekwueme and we are carrying them along."

"Regardless of the reports your are hearing, it suffice to say that family dispute within the PDP, which we want to stem the tide of going to the brink. And I want to say that we have met with the two side of the family and we have listened to them," Obansanjo concluded.
