Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has denied the claim made by his colleague, Yvonne Nelson during an interview on a Nigerian TV station few weeks ago. During the interview, Yvonne Nelson said her last kiss was with John Dumelo in a movie. Toolz, the interviewer later asked Yvonne if she is dating John Dumelo as widely rumoured, the actress said they're not dating: "John is like my brother. He's a Fante guy. John has a girlfriend. John has a girlfriend… In London I guess. He is going to kill me!" Shortly after the interview, curious fans started questioning John on his secret girlfriend in London, the actor however denied Yvonne's claim:
"I have watched the Yvonne Nelson video interview and I think Yvonne was not serious with her statement. I know when Yvonne is serious and when she's joking. She was acting in the interview so there is no need of taking her statement serious. My girlfriend is not in UK. It is not a must to tell people who I am dating or if I am dating or not but my girlfriend is not in the UK."
