Eduok Replaces Victor Moses for Sudan Trip

Dolphins FC winger Emem Eduok has expressed delight after he was called up to the Nigeria squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Sudan.

Eduok will join the African champions for the double-header against Sudan as a late call up for the injured Stoke City midfielder, Victor Moses.

Moses suffered a recurrence of a tight thigh in Stoke's 1-3 Barclays English Premier League defeat at Sunderland on Saturday.

Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi has now acted swiftly and called up uncapped Eduok to replace the electrifying Moses.

Eduok said he was stunned when he was informed about his first senior international call up.

"I was told about the call up (on Sunday) by my coach at Dolphins, Stanley Eguma just before our game against Abia Warriors. I didn’t know whether to cry or laugh," Eduok told supersport.com on Monday.

Eduok has been in scintillating form in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) where he has netted 12 goals this season.

He has also scored three times in the Federation Cup bringing his total haul for the current campaign to 15 goals in all competitions.
