A Delta Airlines Lagos to Atlanta flight allegedly made an unscheduled stop in Dakar after one of the passengers smuggled a bag with dynamite on the plane, according to a passenger.
The 10.00pm June 8 flight had to make emergence landing in Dakar, Senegal, before they left Dakar Monday morning around 7.00am Nigeria time.

Delta Airlines has confirmed that one of its Atlanta-bound airliners was diverted to Dakar, Senegal yesterday.
According to the Director Corporate Communications, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Olivia Cullis: “Delta flight DL55 from Lagos to Atlanta diverted to Dakar, Senegal for precautionary reasons."
"After a short stop, the flight resumed to the United States. The safety and security of our passengers and crew is our number one priority."
